reggieframe7It was a day like any other day. The sun was high in the sky and I had to…pee. I did my usual pee pee dance to let it be known that I had to go out. Ahhh, what beautiful weather. As I finished my business and moseyed around the grass, I noticed that something seemed…different. Something was…amiss.

The lawn felt soft and squishy – just how I like it. The sun was warm on my back, and I could hear the chirps and squalls of birds up in the trees. That’s when it happened. As I lowered my head to receive a pee-mail that someone left me on a bush, SWOOSH! A bird swooped out of the tree and dive-bombed me! I picked up my head – but there was no bird in sight. I looked to the right and to the left…everything seemed still.

Then it happened again…SWOOSH! This bird was out to get me. What did I do? I didn’t even know that bird. Was it the bird’s bush? I looked up to see where it was coming from and SWOOSH SWOOSH! I thought, “I’m getting out of here!” I scurried away but the bird kept coming – he was mad. Luckily, I made my way to safety.

Later, as I was recounting my tale of terror, I found out that birds are actually in the dinosaur family! A flying dinosaur tried to eat me! Well, he really didn’t try to eat me, but he pecked my butt! Apparently, he was protecting a nest of baby dinosaurs or something. Either way, I survived and am here to tell my story.

I learned a very important lesson that daunting day: peeing on bushes is for the birds.

Love,

Reggie

Reggie, you are such a handsome boy. I hope you are getting my replies. You are growing up so fast. It sure sounds like you are doing much better. You be careful around the birds. In April, I was having my house painted and there was a dove’s nest with eggs in it. The painters asked me what to do. I told them to leave that area alone and not to disturb the nest. Reggie, I love all creatures. Then along came two baby doves. I thought they would never leave the nest but finally they did and we got our house finished. I sure love hearing about you and sending you messages. You take care and be good and have fun!

    Reggie:
You are the most adorable puppy. I’m so sorry you had to find out the hard way about MaMa & PaPa birds protecting their babies, hope the peck didn’t hurt too much. I watched a blue bird chase a squirrel the other day, the squirrel was fast but the blue bird was faster. The little squirrel learned a lesson also don’t bother a blue birds nest. I hope you are having a wonderful summer Reggie and I’m looking forward to hearing about more of your adventures.
Hugs from Kathi, and tail wags and kisses from Sassie & Mickie.

Boy, you’ve grown into such a handsome boy Reggie since we first saw you. You are looking like my own little rescue boy Poochie.

I am so happy you are doing well and enjoying life.

The North Shore Animal League is a wonderful place filled with great people helping out dogs and cats.

    Hey Reg:

Sounds like you had a CLOSE ENCOUNTER. Lucky for that bird you were stunned by his dive bombing….

You have alot in common with Dogs With Blogs - DWB’s Joe Stains and his Doofus Brother Tanner - you might stop by and read about his adventures….

    Have a GREAT day!!

Reggie, be very very careful. I have also been attacked by a birdosaur AND a squirrelosaur.

I try to be understanding. I think they are jealous because my mom adopted ME and NOT THEM!!!

I am a rescued German Shepherd and lost my leg to a metal jaw trap. I was worried about finding a mom since humans avoid big black dogs, and then there is the missing leg…but MY Mom didn’t notice.

Your mom will take care of you too!

Hi Reggie - it is great to hear you are out and about and continuing your very strange adventures. You bring a smile to my face and a little news, like, birds are from the dinosaur family? Wow, just imagine is they grew up huge.

Reggie, I bet you thought going pee-pee would never lead to getting so many pecks on the head. WOW I guess you are right better to gp pee on a bush and leave the trees alone at least in the summer time. Always wonderful from you and your adventures. Take Care you Hamdsome Guy !!!!

  8. Reggie..That was so funny..but not funny for you!
You are so handsome and have come a long way.
    How is Nibbles?
    Keep those blogs comming.
    Love, Dolores

PS..I bet you would love meeting Corky. He is a handsome Corgi mix which I adopted from NorthShore on May 2nd, 2009. He is so cute and playful. I will tell him to be careful of the birds.

Hi Reggie, I love your cute little story. We used to have a cat named Cali. She use to love laying on our lawn, soaking up the sunshine and watching the world go by oh let,s not forget she loved to nibble on the grass. Well one day we were outside enjoying the beautiful day with Cali. When these two little dogs were walking pass the house when they started barking at her. Cali who was usually afaid of dogs just sat there looking at the dogs as if to say to them What,s you,re problem? We thought it was so cute that she just sat there. Usually she would run away but the barking didnt bother her. P.S We miss her very much and would love to have another pet to love soon.

Reggie you are adorable! I wish I could give you a home, but I already have two dogs of my own and can’t cope with a third. Hopefully my parents will change there mind and open there heart and home to you or an other dog here! And thats a great fact about how birds come from dinosaurs. I don’t want to appear ‘dumb’ but I never knew that. :)
    Get adopted soon!
    Love, Leesa.
